I run the new RD6700 Ultegra on my Ram, with a White dbl & 9 spd cassette. The shifting is so good that I would like to try this out on a triple. The derailler is specced for 33 teeth difference and a 28 tooth max, which is plenty for my needs. But the spec also suggest a maximum FD difference of 16, much less than a triple would have. Why should the RD care how big a difference you have between rings as long as you stay under the 33 & 28 limitations?
