I am gazing at them at this very moment in wonder. Seriously, the leather washers may present one other benefit. I've busted the plastic brackets for two PB Superflashes when mounted at the rear of racks; this when the rear tire hits one of our 6" wide expansion cracks, sufficiently jarring the rear to crack the bracket and send the light exploding all over the tarmac. (My tires are always, if anything, underinflated.) The washers may provide enough flex in the mounting system to absorb enough of the shock to prevent this.
