My Univega beater came to me with Armadillos on. And I must confess
that in five years of city riding I have NEVER had a flat. That's
impressive. Also, the tires rarely even need pumping; they stay hard
for a very long time (don't ask me how).

But I've always had this nagging feeling that the bike can feel a lot
better than it does, and I blame the tires. Pedaling this bike is
like, there's no momentum and it starts slowing the instant you stop
pedaling. Well, I do have the lighter replacements now (a Pasela and
an older IRC Duro II in great shape) and I'm anxious to put them
on...in spite of the probable drawbacks. I want to find out what this
bike should feel like.
