First big bag purge of the year.

I recently cleaned out some closets and i’m embarrassed at the number of
excessive bags that i’ve accumulated (both bike and other types), so this is my
first attempt at moving some of them along. Prices include shipping and paypal
fees (as long as you live in the US). Please email me directly with any
questions, if you’re reading via a smart-phone, you may need to switch to the
desktop version (link at the bottom of your browser), to reply directly.

Berthoud 704 Bag and Rack: $250
This is the smaller of the two Berthoud Saddlebags the GB704, capacity is about
7L and measures
220mm W x 170mm H X 250mm D. I originally bought both sizes thinking i’d swap
between the two bags and two bikes but i’ve had the larger one mounted/used
99.9% of the time. I’ve used this smaller one a handful of times (sunny, no
rain). The rack has never been mounted as both bags came with a mount and i
only used the one. The rack is quite beefy and makes carrying heavier items a
little more manageable as it provides a platform from below to support the
load. The rack comes with a shim to fit a 27.2 seat-post, if you have a
different size you’ll need to come up with your own shim.

Baggins Boxy Bag: $75, Old style boxy handlebar bag, designed for the F15
handlebar rack. this is patched as a Baggins. the bag is faded and well
loved, but no holes or tears, there are some grease stains in various locations
on the bag. The F15 is not included, so you’ll need to get one of those if you
don’t have one.

Baggins Handlebar Bag: $95, I believe this is the pre-cursor to the hobo bag,
it looks a little smaller then a true hobo bag and the pockets on the front are
different, this one has 1 big pocket instead of two separate ones on the front,
with a single flap. Some light grease stains on the bottom where it got close
to the tire. Otherwise in very good condition, the leather is still really
dark. You can use this without a rack or decaleur (and i don’t think using a
rack would actually help) the bag sways as you pedal--but there are d-rings on
the corners in the front where you could secure it with some twine, will work
with drop bars the best. You can get this to work with alba and moustache bars
but it will require some creative arrangements with twine to the brake levers
to secure it.

Carradice Saddlebag (beat-up): $50, for those that can remember, this is a
carradice saddle bag from about 10 years ago that came to Rivendell as a
‘second’, somehow the bags were stitched with the pockets/flaps on the wrong
side (look at the picture, it’s hard to explain). You end up with a saddlebag
that works perfectly fine, but looks bad because you have an extraneous pocket
on one side and an extraneous flap on the other. Someone at Riv attempted to
‘fix’ this bag by snipping off the flap, but stopped halfway. Bottom line, the
extra pocket and half-snipped flap look terrible, but the center compartment
functions fine. The top-flap also has an extension to fit over-sized items,
surprisingly large volumes can be stored. This is missing the toe-strap that
goes around the seat-post. The bag has gotten very little usage over the
years, it still has the out of the box stiffness of old Carradice bags. The
gray spots in the pics is actually dust.
