So far I'm liking it (except for the brake issues I caused by mounting a 
strut in contact with the rear brake cable housing!)

The Big Rear is probably overkill for me, and looks that way 
aesthetically....whereas the r14 doesn't support panniers which is what I 
wanted.  I've got a large saddlesack for overnights/hauling...but wanted to 
be able to hang some panniers too if needed/easier (and already have a set).

I did discover while mounting this rack what one change between the bleriot 
protovelo I ride and the production model: the production model has brazed 
on seatstay mounts that are higher up than the protovelo.  My bike simply 
has mounts drilled into the seatstays, and too low to get a strut 
positioned without hitting the cable housing easily (using Silver long 
reach brakes).  Hope to figure that out at work today because my commute 
was full of rear brake rub.  Would like to switch to Paul Racer 
center-mount brakes at some point, but have to cut back on my bike 
spending...
