Over the years, I've met lots of people on tour who are on old MTBs, racing
bikes with P-clamped on racks, & crappy luggage who are having the time of
their lives. The common thread is a sense of adventure. They just used
what they had on hand & made it up as they went along. Start with an S24O
& work up to a few days, maybe in a loop from your home out'n'back thru an
area you are familiar with. Just riding your bike with a bunch of stuff &
sleeping somewhere other than home is an adventure in itself.
