I never bothered with this; I just made sure that the wires were stripped carefully and the ends carefully tucked out of sight. I've never had any problems with contact or neatness. Soldering doesn't add anything if you prepare the wires carefully. I twist mine to make them easier to handle.
Soldering **would** help with the SON spade connectors.
