I doubt the price would go that low David, maybe $1000 like the original Hillbornes. I would buy one at that price that fits fat tires with a single top tube and lugs, no discs please. On the stem issue, to me it's tough to build a production bike and get everything to line up for everybody type. So those with longer legs and shorter torso's end up with taller stems. For me most of the Riv's fit pretty well with just the right amount of stem, so I prefer quills.
