I guess I really like knowing those details and researching and learning about frame design and such. I spent 31 years in the high tech metals industry ( Rocket Engines) doing exactly this, so it comes natural to want to understand. On the customs I have bought I provided key design characteristics for the frame and selected the tubing to meet my needs and planned use. To me that was a best part of buying a custom frame.
