I'll admit this is not exactly helpful, but I gave up on M bars. I got them with my Hilsen and really wanted to like them. I tried a bunch of angles and even flipped them over. Nothing worked right for me. I've since gone to Albatross and Jitensha bars, both of which work great for me. I have Dream bars (apparently no longer available?) on my Sunday afternoon joy ride bike.
