I find the 60s best (comfort/sidewall stability) at ~22 front/~27 rear for strictly pavement riding, but that on 44 mm rims. 30 psi in front is too harsh. Of course, rider's weight affects the ride at any given pressure.
Good to see that the B fits the BAs with room to spare. My LiteSkins measure 61 on the SnoCats; the earlier wire beads measured 65 on the same. What sort of terrain/s do you intend to use the BAs on? My use is basically sandy soil. I wanted something that wasn't a total dog on the pavement stretches that take me to local dirt, but pavement apart, I'd have used knobbies. IMO, the BAs are the best compromise: they slide on dirt but they roll well on pavement: in fact, on firm, smooth dirt, they are practically as fast as they are on pavement, at least at off-road pressures. And they are remarkably resistant, tho' not fully proof, against goatheads. Their biggest liability is when the road turns upward: 800 grams for the LiteSkins (900+ for the wire) makes itself felt uphill! I used Planet Bike fenders with mine (until I hacked them one time to many and decided that I needed a new set; haven't gotten around to doing that yet -- "monsoon" season is just about over. Next year. The PBs exposed sidewall on either side but kept the wet from spraying. On Thu, Aug 30, 2012 at 4:18 AM, Tom Harrop <[email protected]> wrote: > It works!
