Ginz. I have one of these, this is the older version with less flexibility. You 
could try and sell it for the newer version with more adjustability, or you 
could spend some time at the hardware store to make it work.

What you need is a small metal bracket/strip with two holes to space it farther 
out. Tis may cause the top to tilt forward a little bit. 

When I got my front rack the previous person tossed these in as he had the same 
problem.  On my bike I have the ird cafam cantis and they are pretty thin in 
thickness, so I can get away with not using the extensions, but its a really 
tight fit.  I can still open them up to remove the wheel but there's not much 
worki g room.

I'm not home at the moment, but I can send pics if you need to see something.  
Personally I would just browse the aisles at the hardware store for the right 
bits to make it work.
