Hi All, Yesterday the Campagnolo chain on my Roadeo broke, fortunately as I was leaving a stop sign right by my house at the end of a ride so there was no problem of any sort. It looks like the pin pulled out of one the links on one side; there was no sign of anything wrong that I noticed before I realized I was pedaling thin air.
I don't recall this ever happening to me and so before I just reattach it a link shorter or put a quick link in where the failed link was, I wanted to see if anyone has any thoughts or experience. My only concern with repairing it of course is if one link could fail maybe so could another. I'd guess the chain has at most a couple of thousand miles on it and I've been pretty good about keeping it lubed. So, fix or trash?
