That sounds reasonable Ted, provided production costs are low enough, and
perceived need high enough. Not sure if I would bother to make the change, but
whudooino?

Subject: [RBW] RH cranks on a 650B Hillsen?

In the comments section of his blog Jan wrote "... I’d love to try 45
mm tires or even 50 mm, but you cannot easily fit tires that wide
between cranks with narrow tread (Q factor)."
The 650B Hillsens will fit a 45mm tire. Since I expect the new RH
cranks were developed with a narrow tread, I am now curious if they
clear the chain stays of a 650b Hillsen without using a bb length that
gives a wider than spec chain line.

Has anyone here put those cranks on a 650b Hillsen, and if so how was
the clearance and the chain line?
