I've posted here on this topic several times before, but thought I'd repeat
a last minute summary for those who may be attending. I have NO IDEA, by
the way, how many will attend. I'd guess 10-500, give or take.

The Midwest Riv Rally will start at Bay Point Park in Red Wing, MN, on
Saturday, June 2, at 8am. Realistically, the ride will leave at 9ish, but
arriving at 8 will allow us all to meet, chat, admire bikes, fool around
with last minute adjustments, etc. The day's route will be "mixed terrain"
with some gravel and potentially some water crossings, but mostly on quiet,
lovely, paved county roads for a total of approx 50-60 miles. If you are
not familiar with the area, it may surprise you that such a place exists in
the Midwest. There will be a fair bit of descending, but we'll finish the
day close to the same elevation as we started the day (both along the
Mississippi River). That night we'll camp (for free) at Malone Park in
Wabasha, MN, unless you've made reservations at the AmericInn hotel there
or at some other nearby lodging facility.

Sunday morning, we'll shoot to roll out around 9am again. Terrain will be
slightly less mixed, and somewhat more sedate in regard to the rustic
nature of the roads. Distance will be around 50 miles, and we'll get back
to Red Wing whenever we get there.

There will be no map or cue sheets or sag support, so we'll have to stick
together and maybe help each other out sometimes. If you're fast and get to
the tops of hills and have to wait for others to catch up, relax and take a
few pictures. If you're not fast, don't worry because you won't be judged
negatively (at least not by me).

There are numerous cafes and stores along the route, so you won't NEED to
pack cooking gear and food for meals, but you may want to, if you find that
sort of thing to be fun. I do.

Any other questions? Post here. The weather report looks GREAT, and I'm
expecting this to be a truly memorable experience (in a good way).
