I am impressed: 2 miles of 8% is no easy walk! Not to mention 35 miles. I'd want to do 35 miles on the bike and find another way for the return (I'd often take a detour one or both ways to add up to 10 miles for a total of 40 rt, but that wasn't something I'd do 5 days a week, week in and out. Age? I did this mostly between early '40s and early '50s, but by 53 I was copping out and catching the Express bus for the last 7 miles home. Now, I work at home and have to make errands for riding -- I find it easier to ride if I have a "practical" destination.
In my mid 30s I knew a BIA lawyer, younger than I, who once a week rode from his house in Gallup, NM to his office at the Navajo Nation capital of Window Rock, and that was only 30 miles. Once a week was all he could manage, and that only in summer. On Sun, May 20, 2012 at 7:28 PM, robert zeidler <zeidler.rob...@gmail.com> wrote: > Mine is about 35 miles one way.
