One of the older Readers (low 20's possibly) first mentions plans to offer the frame that ended up becoming the Rambouillet. But in this reader, when the idea was first introduced, the name "Rambouillet" is not yet revealed. Grant says in that Reader that the name will probably be "Romulus." He also mentions that he'd prefer to call the forthcoming bike the "Libertas" but didn't think he could get the rights to that name.
So the actual Romulus bike didn't come until a bit later, but idea for using that name is a bit older than the bike itself.
