I was able to drag my AHH along on a recent trip to visit family in
Colorado. Over the course of 6 days I was able to get out for 3 "real"
rides... i.e. not counting riding around at the park with the nieces and
nephews.

First... I did some exploring within the city limits of Ft Collins. I've
been there a few times and sort of know my way around but it was fun to go
around by bike and see it from a new perspective. I feel like I know it
much better now. I didn't bring the camera on this ride so no pics to share
from this one.

Second... I met up with bob-list member Rod who took me on a tour of gravel
roads in Weld County... east of Ft Collins. I was completely unfamiliar
with the area we were in. I had a great time and Rod was a most gracious
tour guide. Rod had mapped out a route but we abandoned the route when a
particularly rutted road lured us to points unknown.

My third ride was on my last day there. My brother-in-law wanted to show me
one of his favorite road routes into the Rocky Mountain foothills. The
climbing wouldn't have been too bad if it had started from sea-level like I
am acclimated to. Starting at 5000ft made me slow down a bit but who's to
say there's anything wrong with taking a few extra breaks?

Pics and a lingering sunburn remind me what "sunny" is
