I have the Bike Eye from Harris on my LHT
(http://sheldonbrown.com/harris/mirrors.html) and it works pretty well. I
wanted to avoid damage from parking in crowded public racks, and it has been
successful in that regard. It is not ideal for reading license plates or
checking out someone behind you, as you need to mive your leg oit of the way,
but as far as determining "is a car there?" it works great. I do think that
being frame mounted it suffers less from handlebar jitters than a bar or fork
mounted mirror would.
