Sorry, wasn't trying to impose my aesthetic or ergonomic choices on you, just commenting.
But you asked about bar tape, not bar height. My preference is to match the bar tape to the saddle or a trim color, not to the main frame color. And if there are too many colors in the mix things start to look random rather than chosen. I really like the look of brown or honey (Brooks) saddles with orange cloth tape and amber shellac. The shellac darkens the tape to a color close to the honey saddle and they age beautifully. I haven't had issues with shellac needing tons of maintenance...it more or less waterproofs the tape, you can still feel the cloth texture so it's grippy, it has a slight shine, it develops a fantastic patina, it's easy to add another coat, it's arguably Eco-friendly, etc. What's not to like? -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group.
