San Marcos is a lighter set me thinks but I can't see the ride being
too much different. Too many variables to consider. I think the
Hillborne to be a better frame overall. The SM maybe better suited for
a lighter rider....just my intuition but it seems like it might be
nitpicking even making the comparison depending on the purpose. Do
some reading on tubing properties and you'll soon see there are so
many variables and the differences between one frame and the next
depend on frame size, angles, tube thickness, tube lengths, tube
diameter.....not to mention construction methods wheels used etc. etc.
You almost need to take comparisons on a case by case basis. There is
definitely a difference between a Bombadil and a San Marcos but the
more similar one bike to another the less difference you see in
application.
