The ride on Del Puerto Canyon Road was spectacular. It has been a while since I did a 24 mile continuous climb. Fortunately it was only steep at the end, but dang it was steep at the end. Beautiful country there, especially since it was cool and not yet raining. The only place to have a control out there is The Junction Cafe, and all the randos treated themselves to a big plate of whatever. I had a monster helping of chili fries. In front of the Junction Cafe, I spotted an unmistakeable rig. The rider had overnighted mear Mt Hamilton and his group was going to camp again Saturday night, despite the guarantee of rain. It was odd running into a familiar face and rig out in the middle of nowhere.
