For most folks, whether I'm riding the Quickbeam or the Hilsen, it's like an
alien ship is hovering along next to them. After they ask how old it is
("aught-seven" or "aught-nine"), they often offer that they've never heard
of the brand. If I say it's Rivendell design, or designed by Rivendell, the
blank stare goes away about half the time.
It probably has a lot to do with where I ride (SF area, north) but many
folks are pretty aware of them. It's more frequently that I get a "nice
Riv!" comment, or "Man, I've never seen one in person."
