I just love your creativity! Hope you make a lot of money doing this improvement, or perhaps just making a bunch of the extra parts and RBW offers them on their site for those who want to address the same problem on those pedals.
I didn't like the GKs when I tried them and preferred the sneaker pedal over the GK. However, I developed some right hip problems that I attributed riding free and went back to riding clipless pedals as I had no issues before switching. The hips are fine now and I love riding clipless but on most of my bikes now have the A530 pedals just in case I want to hop on the bike for a short ride and don't want to change shoes/sandals.
