So I was getting my gear together for next week's touring/bike camping extravaganza. The forecast is good so it's looking like we'll head up through Gifford Pinchot Wilderness to Mt Rainer National Park. We're just gonna take it a day at a time and see where we wind up. When we toured two years ago we averaged something like 80 miles a day. Long days in the saddle and short nights at camp. I'm still undecided about whether I'm gonna use big panniers and carry all my load in the rear or use two small panniers up front and a stuff sack on the rear rack. I'm leaning towards the large panniers in the rear. I'll also be using a Ortlieb HB bag. I'm about 90% sure I'll just use platform pedals.
Here's what I'll be taking minus some odds and ends like the tent poles and food. We managed well on the last tour just picking up each day's food along the way. http://www.flickr.com/photos/41335973@N00/5989013883/in/photostream My friend Dylan will be using a semi-cargo bike thing so he's got plenty of room for taking on any overflow. http://www.flickr.com/photos/huntercycles/5653595523/in/faves-41335973@N00/ I may even squeeze in a bike camping trip on Sunday night. --mike -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group.
