If the rear hub is too wide for the dropouts, you either have to get the hub respaced, or you have to get the rear triangle spread. Not doing either, but just forcing the hub in there is, according to a recent posting by a noted framebuilder who used to build frames for Serotta, the leading cause of broken dropouts.
