Marty, that's a beautiful bike. What is that color called?

And I love the R-15. It's not as heavy or massive-looking as a Big Back Rack
or equivalent. But it is very versatile. I've used those side supports to
strap all sorts of things on it; net-panniers, the SaddleSack's flat pocket,
my tool roll, my candy bar bag, a portable stool... it's just great.

I've been using my TourSacks on my R-15 rack with my Hillborne lately. That
combination is about perfect; the R-15 isn't the strongest rack out there,
but then the TourSacks aren't the largest panniers. So you aren't likely to
challenge the R-15 with them unless you're carrying something really dense.

I enhanced the TourSacks useability by adding some small Nitto band clamps
on the dropout eyelets to loop the bungee-ball cord through for lower
attachments. I see the Bombadil has even more eyelets in that area then my
Hillborne.

I would imagine the lower attachment points would help with other panniers
too.

Yours,
Thomas Lynn Skean
That should help with many panniers, I think.
