I just replied over in the other thread (didn't realize this one had
spun off);

Instead of a true kids' bike, I went with the smallest ladies MTB bike
for my 9-yr-old daughter;  it dodged the 'kids-size' wheels, has
regular 26" MTB wheels on it, is big enough that I can raise the
seatpost and ride it myself, but with it all the way down, she can
easily handle it.

I'd have loved to have seen her riding a Riv kids' bike instead; even
considered a Betty Foy, but, that's a bit more than I'd want to spend
on something that might get outgrown....
