Hello All- Please pardon the blatant commercial post, but this is a direct descendant of a venerable Rivendell product and thought there might be some interest here. I plan on setting up an ETSY page later this Summer, but I've got a small run that I'm offering here first.
I was a huge fan of the waxed cotton ACME wallet that Rivendell used to sell. When mine finally wore out, I decided to make my own. I modified the design from a tri-fold to a more user friendly bi-fold. The hardest part was finding an appropriate fabric. Filson tin cloth (of the original) is impossible to get and bulk waxed cotton is prohibitively expensive and has huge minimum orders. The best alternative I've found is nice stout waterproof marine canvas. It's used for boat seats and awnings and such. It's the same stuff Rivendell sells as the burrito wrap. These are really simple, practical wallets that embody wabi sabi, take on a wonderful "beausage" and become old friends. I can put a snap it to keep it closed for those who would keep it in a bag rather than in a pocket. Please contact me off-list if you are interested. Cheers- Mike in So. Boston, Mass -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group.
