Thanks, Michael; best to you too. The new rack has the inevitable defects of its qualities in that it detracts from the randonneur quality of the bike, but I do have the fast Rivendell commuter and, after all, this bike was initially intended to carry a small dog, which the new rack will allow. And at 2 1/2 lb it is surprisingly light for its size, tho' 2 lb heavier than the custom it replaces.
