I agree it is a fallacy. I was stating that is was a justification that we run across on these boards. But I don't think I'm necessarily committing that fallacy. I'll quote myself:

I want the Sackville one, but the presence of something that is 1/10th the cost, that I've been happily using for the same task for ~20 years has me in a position where it's a stretch, that's all.
