Finally got out for a 45 miler on the Sam Hillborne on Saturday. Rode
north and east from home to the town of Stillwater, MN. Wanted to get
some miles on the bike. Plus needed to get climbing. A number of
tolerable sized hills between here and there. Well, at least for
those of us who live in the flat lands. Even though the temps were
near 60, there were a few spots of ice/snow on a trail used to head
back home. Only took a couple of photos as the weather was not too
cooperative. Even rode though a really cold, pelting rain.
Fortunately, only lasted around 10 minutes.

With the longer ride, was able to evaluate my changes on the bike.
All of which I feel make it better for my style of riding. The V
brakes have a nice power to them. Especially nice on steep
downhills. And the higher, shorter stem did a good job of taking
weight off my hands. Dealing again with a touch of hand pain this
year. Want to nip it in the bud before it becomes a serious issue.
