Will the S1 be 'most identical to the QB xc for the brakes? I want one, to
replace my Motobecane grocery bike; not because the M is bad but because
Rivs are so good and because this role is better filled by an all arounder
type than a racing bike, even a very nice and versatile 38 year old racer.

Will just frames be available? Don't want any over-sophisticated,
excessively complex, extremely delicate two-ring, two-cog drivetrain.

Maybe the Motobecane can become my Roadeo substitute --- it's frameset is
lighter than my Riv custom framesets. Paint job, dt shifter bosses brazed
on, some nice parts .... say a 1X8 coastie drivetrain. (Good thing I didn't
hacksaw off the derailleur hangar.)
