I can only add that the single most accomplished cyclist I know rides a 45+/- lb bike, when outfitted with empty bags and racks. This fella has ridden across or around every continent on the planet, except for the really cold one. I am not sure if that helps, but I keep it in mind when I start considering how much stuff weighs.
