I sprung, wholly needlessly, for a SON 20R (wheel built by Rich) and I have not yet regretted spending the additional money. And I don't even ride very far with it. I'd say that, for someone like you, the SON is the natural choice. And spuds ain't bad: potato soup, latkes, french fries, potato bread, potato pancakes, curried potatoes, samosas; Julie Andrews liked potato sandwiches, but that is perverted. You can be like an early 19th century Irish peasant and eat the average male 11 lbs/day.
