Hi All,

Thanks for those who kept a look-out. The bike has been retrieved!
Berkeley locals might find this interesting: When it first got stolen,
we talked to the guy at Karim* to let him know about the bike, and
when someone came in to pump up his tires a few days ago, Karim told
him he knew who's bike it was and to call. The bike's new owner hated
to give up the best riding bike he'd ever owned, but he called and
returned it.

*For those not from the Bay Area, Karim is a low-end second-hand bike
shop that has a reputation for selling stolen bikes. For what it's
worth, Karim himself insisted that we tell the internet that he
doesn't make a business of selling stolen bikes, and that this episode
should demonstrate that. (I have no opinion about this.) Either way,
my friend is very happy to be back on her bike.
