There's a very simple, bicycle-related solution for Klean Kanteens... I've found that one roll of cloth handlebar tape just about covers one of the larger 27oz Klean Kanteens very nicely, by just overlapping the tape a little bit. The KK then fits perfectly into any of the metal bottle cages I've have installed on my bikes with no rattling. Cheap and elegant. What's not to like?
There's a great choice of colors, and I suppose if you were so inclined, you could even shellac the tape once you put it on there to seal it up. I've found that I prefer to leave the tape uncoated and then I can change colors every couple of years when it starts to get too worn. I've been surprised that more people haven't stumbled on this solution actually.
