Nathan If you call that a lot of post then I guess I count as a 'crotch worrier' :). I'm glad I chose the 56 because there's a tiny bit of room between me and the top tube on the 56, and there was zero on the 60. When I rode them both, the 60 just felt like a massive creature, kind of like riding a horse. It just felt too big and awkward. The TT length of the 60 was manageable. Call the frame "expanded" or call it "sloping", the fact is that the top tube is very low back at the seat lug, so I think its totally fine to show some post on a Sam or a Bombadil. Remember that if the TT was level, but the bike had the same standover height, the 56 Sam would really be a 59cm, and you'd have 3cm less seatpost showing. Maybe that's what your eye is used to?
For a racing setup back in my youth, where the bars are 3" or so below the seat, I'd usually go 56.5cm TT and 12cm stem. For an almost level saddle to bars setup, like I have on my Hilsen, it's a 58.5cm TT with a Pearl 11 stem. I've got the bars about 3/4" below the saddle at the moment For a sit up and beg touring kind of fit I have a Tech DLX 11cm on that Hillborne, which has a 57.5cm TT, despite what the GEO chart tells you (the chart still says 59), and for a similar fit on the 56cm Bombadil (60.5cm TT), I have a 9cm Nitto lugged at almost max height. Both of those bikes have the bars about 1-1/2" above the saddle. Anyway, Nathan, best of luck to you. You are taller than me (I'm 5'10") and my attitudes towards sizing are changing towards bigger, so maybe the 60 would make you happier. The only bike I have right now that feels too small is my 56cm racing bike (level TT). If I could snap my fingers and change it to a 58, I probably would.
