I have a setup like this holding my Ixon IQ (not dyno; 4AA) on a Peter White mount and can attest to its stability. I also have a variant using a much longer bolt and a long aluminum spacer (2 inches maybe?) that looks a little dorky but accommodates the Platrack/SlickerSack combo (have to remove/remount when I remove/remount the Platrack). I really like the light's height when mounted this way.
