The IRD FW's failing have nothing to do with the lube or cleaning them. It's a well known issue they've had since they began making them. They keep claiming to have fixed the problems with each version, now up to Mark IV. I don't think it's a coincidence Riv stopped selling them . Harris Cycles still does, IRD made "new" ones last summer, the Mark IV. If they're still failing , Harris Cycles would here about it.
