Let's see....on Saturday, I was wearing shorts and a t-shirt and this morning watched most of the neighbors scraping frost off their windshields. Since the new year, we've been enjoying a pretty static high pressure zone overhead, which tends to keep the rains away. But, two weeks from now, we could be talking about record rains. Couple o' ride buddies have writeups on the 300K: JimG's 2007 ride was under challenging conditions - http://tinyurl.com/jimg-300k2007 Carlos has ridden it a few times, too - http://bike.duque.net/brevets.htm Common wisdom would say be ready for rains - fenders, appropriate layers, that sort of thing. When it rains, chilling is a very real threat, and depending upon where the winds are coming from, it can be challenging. As we like to say, the SF Bay Area is the Queen of the Microclimates, so you can hit a variety of temps during the day. If you hit good weather, it'll feel like summer, most likely, given what conditions are like your way. I've not done the 300K, so I don't have specific advice for that ride. The SFRandonneurs are a fine bunch.
