Well, I've had fenders on my Rivendell Road Standard for some time. If there is a correlation between having fenders mounted and stopping rainfall, it must be working. We haven't had a drop of moisture so far this month in Tucson (maybe a chance next week!). I agree with those that keep their fenders mounted because they keep their bikes cleaner (I also have a fender mount rear light).
