Well, if you've already got the parts lying around, it'd be interesting to try to make that work. My guess, though, is that the cable housing emerging from the bar-end shifter will interfere with the grip's outboard retaining ring. When I asked RBW about whether I could use bar-end shifters with the woodies grips they used to sell, the answer was a straightforward "no" for a similar reason.
Now, with some creative carving you *might* make it work. Looks iffy at best to me. I'm setting up some Albatross bars with the carved cork grips from RBW right now. Or, perhaps try the VO stitch-on leather grips? I'd love to hear how it works out.
