I'm slowly discovering that the deliberately neglected chain on the Motobecane grocery bike (no maintenance except to add lube three or four times a year and wipe off excess) is lasting as long as the carefully waxed chains on my two Rivs. But I don't get chainring tattoos or dirty fingers from the Rivs.
