I just came across this website: (http://www.dromarti.com/index.php?

for the ultimate in cycling mitts, made by Dromarti. Needless to say,
they ain't cheap! I'm lusting after them anyway, they really look
better than anything I've seen in the market, including those made by
Rapha. Presumably, VO Imports is also working on some cycling gloves
that they trolled some time ago on the VO Blog site. They also looked
quite nice, but the gestation period for their development has
certainly run into a long period!

Almost just what I've been looking for. Appear quite well-constructed from
high-quality materials, and not too padded -- a big deal, at least to me.
But the knuckle holes appear to not line up with the knuckles, making them
look like an affectation meant to bump up the MSRP. Worse, the gratuitous
addition of the expensive leather bag (which undoubtedly is lovingly encased
in another plastic bag, which is protected by a padded custom box --
Russian-doll packaging, I call it) is off-putting. Well-made stuff that
comes in earnestly minimal packaging makes a much better impression on me.

Remove the showy (between the) knuckle holes, keep the fancy leather bag,
and I'd pay $50. for them right now. I'd consider $75, maybe.

RBW content: Every box I've ever received from Rivendell has been the very
model of minimal packaging.

Perhaps The Allergies are making me cranky today.
