Black components are the trend with carbon frames. It will change, as all things do. When .... who knows.
I always liked silver too, but I recently bought a Salsa Shaft seatpost in black. It shows about 4 inches, and looks fine. What all this has taught me is the silliness of my vanity. Would I rather not ride a bike at all because the parts were black? Heck no. I'm very grateful to be able to ride at all.
