Patrick, No the Marathon Supremes are not dogs. But, it depends on your definition of a dog tire! From other forums I participate in, lots of folks use them and they are quick rolling tires. You can look in Schwalbes speed chart for each tire too, the Supremes are the best rolling of all the Marathons except the Racer. But hey, 40mm tires are 40mm tires. They are 28's, and will never be like them.
It's mostly a matter of physics. Look at specs.
