That is what I found out the hard and expensive way after eagerly buying a 44 for the middle and a 30 for the granny and, pushing them finger tight onto the 113 spindle (for the XD2 crank) found they bottomed out against the stay. I did get a Pro 5 Vis to work with a 44/30 in the middle and inner positions on an old, 60 mm BA + Fender clearance, early '90s Diamond Back mtb, but that one had the stay crimped a good inch or so further south than the stay on the Fargo.
I could save myself a lot of anxiety by just accepting things as they are (Fargo + 113 Tange + XD2 scavenged from Sam Hill = works fine).
