I finished it up yesterday afternoon, and I've been laid up with a
cold, so all I did was ride it around the block. Even on that short
of a spin, I can confirm that the fit is exactly what I was shooting
for. I can't tell you how useful Grant's frame-drawing lessons were
for me. I have all my bikes drawn up now. The Hetres are definitely
cushy. I rode them a fair bit this summer on my Bombadil. I have 4
sets of road tires: Hetres, Pari Motos, Somas, and Maxy Fastys. We'll
see which ones get the majority miles.

Of course I considered the 59cm 700C Hilsen (I'm more like an 87 PBH,
5'10-1/2"), but I tried 650B on my existing go-fast road bike first,
and that hooked me. In my mind right now, 650B is really like getting
something for nothing. You can run wider tires than 700C, be lighter
weight than 700C, be more durable than 700C, run lower pressure than
700C and roll faster than 700C. The only thing you lose is tire
selection/availability, so I'm forced to stock up. That impression
might change as I put legitimate miles on this beauty, but I'm pretty
drunk on the 650B koolaid at the moment. I still have 2 700C bikes as
well, so I haven't completely switched over.
