It sounds like the Roadeo is the way to go. You have other bikes that fill 
other niches, but the one that seems to best fit the type of riding you 
describe is the Roadeo. I have a Riv custom that is almost a copy of the Roadeo 
geometry. Mine doesn't allow for Jack Browns and fenders, but will allow up to 
true 30C tires. I typically ride 28c tires on it and have done many centuries 
and double centuries and brevets on it. It's a nice comfortable ride and is a 
great choice for longer distances where you're not carrying a large load.

The beauty of the Roadeo is that it allows a bit larger tires and fenders 
should the need arise.
